Vocation Overview
The Sorcerer advanced vocation’s formidable arsenal of powerful magic allow them to easily swing any encounter in their favor. By channeling their powers into large staves and concentrating for extended periods, Sorcerers are able to unleash sheer destruction that targets a wide area on the battlefield.

As with most backline vocations, it is recommended to get Subtlety from the Thief class immediately to be able to safely cast spells without worrying about being targeted by enemies too often. Afterwards, get Augment skills such as Endurance and Exaltation that accommodate the Sorcerer’s reliance on stamina to use magic.
To fill your remaining Augment skill slots, switch back to the Sorcerer vocation and unlock all spell-related passives, starting with Asperity to increase the odds of inflicting status ailments and debuffs. Then, boost elemental magic damage, especially those that different enemies are weak to, by going for Catalysis and Sagacity.

The Sorcerer’s main strength lies in being able to deal massive damage over a wide area on the battle. Skills like High Thundermine and High Salamander are your staple offensive spells which both have relatively short cast times to spam them against enemies.
Once you find enemies clustered very close to each other, throwing out High Hagol and High Seism are effective. Both spells deal high damage with High Hagol even allowing you to immobilize enemies if they are inflicted with freeze.

The core skills for the Sorcerer vocation are mostly the same as those for the Mage. You naturally want to get Quickspell so you can get off magic faster at the cost of stamina. Afterwards, get Levitate to be able to reach loot or explorable areas that are too high up.
Bursting Bolt’s utility may vary based on how you use it, though it is generally better to only unlock it once you have all other skills and augments learned in the game.

Similar to Mages, the Sorcerer is a spellcasting backline unit that should avoid being targeted by enemies at all times. In addition, this vocation is even more reliant on stamina than its starting class counterpart so having more of the resource and improved means of regaining it is essential to be able to contribute effectively to the party.
Lastly, Sorcerers are typically more offense-focused than Mages so all Augment skills that improve magic damage and rate of applying debuffs and status effects should your next focus when building this vocation.
