Character Creation Guide for Dragon’s Dogma 2

Choose which character type to create (Arisen or Main Pawn).

Before you can begin the detailed customization of your character, you must first choose which character type you are going to create. Selecting “Arisen” will allow you to design and customize the character you will control throughout the entire game, or, in other words, the main character of the game. The Main Pawn, on the other hand, allows you to customize the Pawn that will accompany you on your journey as the Arisen.

Decide whether to create a character with a preset or start from scratch.

After selecting the character type, you will be asked whether you want to create a character with a preset or create a new one from scratch. Regardless of your choice, you can still customize every detail of your character, but if you wish to complete the character creation quickly, you can choose one from the presets that the game provides.

Choose a race and body type.

Next, you will be able to choose which race of character you want to be. The options are Male Human, Female Human, Male Beastren, and Female Beastren. Once you have chosen a race, you will then proceed to create the base head of your character.

Adjust the face and head to your preference.

In this part, you can customize and adjust the base head and face of your character. Once finished, you will be able to use the head you have customized as the base for further customization.

Body Customization

After completing the base head, you will move on to the body. Body customization allows you to design and adjust the body in a more detailed way. This includes customizing the upper body, lower body, posture, body hair, tattoos or markings, and even fur if your character is a Beastren.

Does body type and character size affect your character’s performance?

The answer is yes. Height, for example, affects the speed of your movements, such as walking and running. Taller characters are said to be faster in terms of walking and running, whereas shorter characters are more difficult to hit by monsters, and they can pass through the gap between the legs of enormous monsters.

The character’s weight has an impact on your stamina and regeneration rate. Characters that are lighter can move faster and consume less stamina, while heavier characters can bring or carry more items and are more capable with heavy equipment.

Customize the hairstyle.

In this section, you can freely adjust the character’s hairstyle as well as the facial hair. Customize everything according to your preferences and create a unique character of your own.

Customize the facial structure.

This section is purely aesthetic, just like the hair, and this does not affect the performance of your character. You are free to customize your character’s eyes, nose, eyelashes, teeth, or even the claw’s color.

Ways to Change Appearance after Character Creation

Is it possible to change appearance after the Character Creation?

Although not officially confirmed, an item included in Dragon’s Dogma 2 Deluxe Edition, Art of Metamorphosis, suggests that it is possible to change appearance in the game after Character Creation. The Art of Metamorphosis is described as an item that allows you to edit characters.
