Can You Play as the Elf Race in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
Not selectable as a “regular” race in the character creation screen.
Despite Elves being among the races that appear in Dragon’s Dogma 2, it is not possible to select them as a “regular” race in the character creation screen. The only races you can select when making your Arisen and Main Pawn character are Human and Beastren.
You can create a Human character with pointy ears that resembles an Elf.
For those who really wish to play as an Elf in Dragon’s Dogma 2, the only option is to create a Human character with pointy ears that resembles an Elf. To do this, go to Detailed Customization > Head > Ears after picking the Human race at the Character Creator screen.
From here, simply adjust the different settings to make your character’s ears pointed instead of the normal one more attributed to humans.
Likely to be still seen as Human by true Elf NPCs.
Note that having pointy ears will likely not make true Elf characters recognize you to be of the same race as them as you are technically still human based on the character creator race you selected.
Can the Arisen learn Elvish in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
Likely only available to Pawns (to be confirmed).
While enabling the Arisen to speak and understand the Elvish language may enhance role-playing as the race, it seems that the skill will only be available to Pawn allies you can hire in the game via Pawn Specializations.

This means that despite making your character to appear as an elf as accurately as possible, you will still need an ally who understands Elvish to interact with true Elves throughout the game’s mains story.
Elves may be added as a playable race in the future.
May be included in future DLCs and updates.
While yet to be confirmed, there is a possibility for the Elf race to be added as a proper selectable race in the character creation screen via DLCs and updates. More information on this will be added when it is revealed from official sources.
