Clair, Clive’s sister, a noble who fights for the Deliverance. She mounts a pegasus knight and is armed with a lance. She first appears in Fire Emblem Gaiden and returns to Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. She returns alongside others to join the Order of Heroes.

Clair sports high Resistance and Speed enabling her to swiftly maneuver across tome units. She also has a decent default kit especially with Hit and Run to give her some breathing room to shave off enemy tome units’s HP. However, she fares poorly against high defense and high attack units especially greens because of her mediocre Defense Stat.

Strategy
Clair is a blue flier with significant Speed and notable Resistance. Thanks to her base speed, she is capable of evading follow-ups from tome units and dish out decent damage by the time she catches up to them.
Skills-wise her default kit comes with an average Silver Lance+ which unfortunately has no additional effects whatsoever. Her main selling point is the innate Hit and Run a trait she shares with her brother Clive. This provides Clair a chance to whittle down enemies while having the advantage of retreating each time. This is effective in shaving off the HP of certain ranged units such as Dagger and Tome units provided that for the former, allies can finish them off before they start dealing damage to the rest of the party.
Despite her decent default kit, she becomes more efficient with a high amount of investment. Pairing her with a Firesweep Lance+ grants her immunity during the player phase against opposing physical attacks from 1 range attacks. This works tremendously in conjunction with her innate Hit and Run to escape from the enemy’s grasp especially if she can move along the mountains. More expensive builds tend to pass Distant Counter to enable Clair to retaliate against tome units especially low defense variants.
For team composition, Clair appreciates other fliers especially those that can pass buffs like Caeda. She also has synergy with Cherche since she can cover her glaring weakness to red tome units, while the latter can tank opposing green physical units. To complete the triangle, she also appreciates an offensive partner such as Palla to make up for her lackluster Attack.
Counter
- As a unit who utilizes the pegasus knight, Clair is susceptible to most Bow units due to her pitiful Defense.
- Takumi – Standard bow unit whose Close Counter enables him to tear through approaching fliers.
- Cherche – Apart from being an unfavorable color matchup, Cherche’s extremely high Attack stat easily pierces Clair’s poor defense stat. In addition, she can easily pursue her as she is also a flier.
- Merric – A special mage whose built-in weapon deals destructive damage to fliers. He also exerts additional pressure thanks to his color advantage.
