Stats

However, she cannot withstand facing Armored units and certain infantry that are DEF invested and have high ATK.

Strategy
Kagero has stellar ATK, and commendable SPD and RES. She raises the bar as the highest ATK among all dagger-type units with Poison Dagger. Speed-wise, she can deal double-damage to average SPD infantry units notably Nowi. Functions as an effective counter against most tome users during the player phase, given that they do not come with buffs.
Her drawbacks include having subpar defenses, making her vulnerable against units with Distant Counter built in their Skill. You could make a case for Xander since he is not an infantry unit, and sports a huge amount of DEF to sponge her attacks. In return, he deals damage when armed with his Siegfried.
Also, since she deals ranged damage, she cannot return damage when engaged at close encounters and requires an expensive inheritance which, due to her average DEF, makes her fall easily during the enemy phase.
Kagero is suitable for both hyper-offensive and defensive teams that need some offensive pressure on the field. She performs better as a recipient of adjacent buffs from the likes of units such as Ephraim.
If she happens to be an Attack boon, Kagero is capable of running a Skill inheritance, Life and Death 3 to boost ATK and SPD further. In case she happens to also be HP bane or DEF bane, she can swap Life and Death 3 for Fury 3 to maintain some form of bulk at the expense of sustaining HP damage each time she is exposed in combat. For arena-oriented battles, pair it with Moonbow to deal some insane amounts of damage.
Singers/ Dancers can help Kagero fulfill the role of removing tome users during the player phase. Since Daggers deal physical damage, Kagero appreciates support from Tome users who can pierce through the durable units notably the Armored ones.
Counter
- Robin (M) – Kagero is vulnerable to heroes who possess Raven or Blade Tomes. This especially concerning when caught in the range during the Enemy Phase.
- Hector – As an armored unit that can take a hit or two from Poison Dagger and retaliate with his own Distant Counter attack.
- Ryoma – Sharing the spot with Ike, DEF boon variants have a shot at surviving a Poison Dagger and retaliating the next turn.
