History
The Justice League was formed by Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Aquaman, and Martian Manhunter. Over time, many more members joined, and the Justice League of America protected the world from villains such as Darkseid and Black Adam. However, after Superman’s lover, Lois Lane, was killed, Superman created the One-Earth Regime to eliminate all of Earth’s villains. Members of the League separated and either joined the Regime or Batman’s Insurgency. While still officially functioning before the rise of the Regime, the Justice League took it upon themselves to settle or end several countries feuds and problems, enforcing peace and protecting many innocent lives. They would even go as far as remove diplomatically elected officials.
Though Batman’s Insurgency worked hard to thwart their efforts and deter Superman and the League from the path they were on, they would ultimately fail and be driven underground. After Lex Luthor and Superman created their enhanced super soildiers to serve as their new army and began placing them within world cities, the League was disolved and replaced with the One Earth Regime, consisting of members of the Justice League and several supervillains.
Injustice: Gods Among Us
The Justice League of the Main Earth are seen fighting against Black Adam, Doomsday, Ares, and Sinestro in Metropolis while the Teen Titans battle Lex Luthor, Solomon Grundy, Catwoman and Bane in the Watchtower. After Batman discovers that The Joker intends to destroy Metropolis with a nuclear bomb given to him by Luthor, the League attempts to stop him. Before they can stop the bomb, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, and Aquaman are teleported to the alternate Earth, though this act somehow prevents the bomb from going off.
The remaining members of the League, including Superman, Flash, and Cyborg use the Watchtower in order to attempt to find the missing members. Cyborg and Superman are eventually brought over to the alternate Earth to join with their friends in stopping the Regime and restoring freedom to the world.
