How to Get the Shiny Charm in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
What is the Shiny Charm?
The Shiny Charm is a key item in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (Pokemon SV) that triples the chances of encountering Shiny Pokemon in the game. The chances of Shiny Pokemon appearing by default is at 1/4096. Having the Shiny Charm in your bag, however, causes it to go up to 3/4096 (about 0.07%).
Complete the Paldea Pokedex
The Shiny Charm can only be obtained after clearing the main story and completing all 400 entries on the Paldea Pokedex. Afterwards, talk to Professor Jacq at the Biology Room of the Academy to obtain the Shiny Charm.
You need to catch all 400 Pokemon to get the Shiny Charm.
Note that you are required you catch all 400 Pokemon to complete the Paldea Pokedex. Simply encountering them in the wild or during Trainer Battles will not count. Since you will not encounter all 400 Pokemon required to complete the Pokedex in just one version of the game, you will need to trade with other players online.
