Boss Fight: How To Kick Ravus to the Curb

You gotta admit; Ravus’ pretty persistent. After all, not many people survive turning into demons. But, this guy’s gonna be a problem if you don’t kick him down now. While Ravus used to be the proud general of Niflheim, now he’s a stumbling and lumbering half-human and half-demon who wants to be put out of his misery.

First, you meet up with this guy in the hangar. After rescuing Prompto and reactivating Noct’s powers, the group makes their way into the hanger. However, there’s a problem. The moment they find their way there, they come across someone who they thought was dead: the brother of Lunafreya, Ravus.

Ravus clearly has had a weird make-over with Ardyn reanimating his body to go smack Noct and the others around. Nonetheless, the corpse begs the king to put him out of his misery. When the dead general pleas for mercy-killing, the king agrees and pushes forward to defeat bring him down.

Kicking Ravus might take some time. However, Noct is at a bit of a disadvantage. With not much poles or places to point warp to, healing up may be a bit complicated. Fighting Ravus is like having Dark Souls 2 all over again except with a little less gore and may be a bit less crying since he doesn’t one shot.

Open first with a warp strike. Swap weapons when you can to maximize the damage and power. When you come up close, Ravus will deal a combo of his own. Dodge roll out and watch out for his sword wave attack. If you’re not high levelled enough, it can one-shot you.

Have Gladio tank and Prompto deal his damage. You can also have Ignis as the healer for this combat by using Regroup. Not only does it make Ignis invulnerable but it also allows you to gather up, heal up, and rejoin the fray.

Ravus has several attacks. One is the stomp-slash, dash attack, and summoning dark thorns to impale you. If you take too much damage, the second floor serves as a point warp spot and zap Noct up there. With that, Noct can heal up his HP and his MP while sustaining his teammates. He also has a stomp-slash attack which can also knock you down if you’re not looking.

Since Noct is a bit squishy, have him zip in and out with Prompto covering from behind. Ignis supports using Regroup while Gladio tanks using either Tempest or Dawnhammer. Also, use spells when you can as it can help especially Healcast.

As much as possible, use your warp strikes to deal damage and get into his blind spot to deal damage. Combo as much as you can and watch his swinging movements.

Conclusion

After knocking down Ravus, the group mourns for his death. After all, Ravus only cared for his sister. But before the group can continue, a whole horde of demon swarms you all…
