1) Aqua Shooter

A magic attack on a single target. It can hit for critical damage. Aqua Shooter’s damage increases significantly when Provoke is used on Extractor.

2) Depth Charge

Hits the entire party with Special-type damage. Has a 50% chance of inflicting blind on targets.

Extractor Boss Strategy

Equip Lightningstrike weapons

As with all machina enemies, Extractor is extremely weak to thunder. Any Lightningstrike weapons will be very useful against it. You can also try to have Wakka at full Overdrive to dish out a good amount of damage early or to cancel out the boss’ Depth Charge attack.

Use buffs at the start of battle

Before the battle starts, have Tidus set up buffs like Haste and Cheer on the party. You can also use Slow on the enemy to gain even more of a speed advantage.

Canceling Depth Charge

After a while, the boss will rise up and prepare its Depth Charge attack. You can cancel it by inflicting more than 500 points of damage. Provoke also prevents the boss from performing the attack, though this increases Extractor’s strength for the next two rounds.
