1) Sigh

Expels a harmful magic gas that damages the entire party. Can inflict blind.

2) Venom

Shoots a poisonous sludge at a single target. Inflicts poison and slow.

3) Water

A water spell that hits a single target.

4) Staccato

A powerful physical attack that hits all targets. Can hit for critical damage.

Strategy

Use Haste and Cheer

Begin the fight by casting Haste on Yuna and Lulu as they will be the main damage dealers at the beginning of the fight. This also helps Yuna immediately cast heals when any party members are near death. Using Cheer allows you to better endure Geneaux’s powerful Staccato attack when it comes out of its shell.

Taking out the tentacles

Summoning Valefor can make quick work of the tentacles while tanking some damage as well. You can also have Lulu bombard the tentacles with fire spells to quickly take them out. Focus on attacking Geneaux with magic afterward to make it come out of its shell.

Silence Geneaux

Wakka can use Silence Attack on Geneaux to keep it from casting spells, though it will still be able to use Venom. You can even use Silence Attack when the boss is inside its shell.
