Attacks
1) Gaze
A special attack on the entire party. Has a chance to inflict confused, petrified, or zombie status on targets.
2) Drawn to Sin
A passive move that pulls the party closer. Performed at the start of battle and on its next turn to get the party in range for its attacks.
3) Giga-Graviton
A powerful magic attack on the whole party that causes an instant game over. It is performed after the boss’ Overdrive gauge is full, which is after around 16 turns.
Strategy
How to Defeat Overdrive Sin
It is recommended to enter the battle with all aeons’ Overdrive gauges fully charged, as you will need to defeat Overdrive Sin quickly. You can also weaken Overdrive Sin to physical attacks by having Auron attack it with Armor Break.
Another way to easily burst down Sin Overdrive is to have Lulu doublecast Ultima or Flare. To make the fight even more trivial, you can mix Wings of Discovery to create Trio of 9999 and use it against the boss.
Casting Hastega on the party when the fight begins allows you more turns before Overdrive Sin can act. Note that the boss will use its first two turns to move closer to the party, giving you time to set up Hastega and burst it down. Make good use of each turn after to stack up as much damage as you can.
If you do not defeat Overdrive Sin by the time it fully charges its Overdrive gauge, it will use Giga-Graviton to wipe out the entire party. Note that the attack cannot be defended against or postponed, meaning the battle is essentially a race against time.
