1) Summon Sinscale

Sin’s Fin does not attack. It will instead summon Sinscales to fight for it.

Strategy

Ranged Attacks

Lulu’s magic, Wakka’s physical attacks, and Kimahri’s Lancet ability are the only attacks that can damage Sin’s Fin.

Save your Healing Items and Overdrives

It is not recommended to use any healing items during this fight, as another boss battle will follow. You will only have control of Tidus and Wakka during the next fight and curative items will be your only means of staying alive. If you need to heal when fighting Sin’s Fin and the Sinscales, have Yuna cast Cure instead.

You should also save Tidus’ and Wakka’s Overdrives for the second battle to easily burst down the next boss.

AP Grinding

You can grind AP indefinitely by defeating as many Sinscales as you can survive. Sin’s Fin will summon an infinite number of the creatures. Each kill will net you two AP, three for Overkills. They will also grant a hefty supply of Power Spheres. You can let all of your characters have a go at the enemies to earn lots of AP for each of them.
