Strategy

1) Boss: Seymour Omnis

FFX Inside Sin Walkthrough

Seymour Omnis Boss Guide

The final battle against Seymour has a specific mechanic that determines his attacks and current elemental affinity. Note the combination of symbols closest to Seymour, the four innermost symbols, to know how to fight him. Use the table below to determine the conditions according to the Mortiphasm’s position.

Mortiphasm Pattern Seymour’s Behavior and Attributes
Four discs of the same color Seymour will cast an -aga spell of the indicated element four times.  He will be weak to its opposite element. He absorbs the primary element.
Three discs of the same color Seymour will cast an -aga spell of the indicated element three times, then cast an -ara spell of the last element. He absorbs the primary element.
Two discs of the same color Seymour will cast an -ara spell of the indicated element three times, then cast an -ara spell for each of the different elements. He is immune to the primary element.
One disc of a color Seymour will cast an -ara spell for each element indicated by the discs.

It is very important to have elemental protection during the battle by equipping Lulu with Phantom Bangle, Yuna with Phantom Ring, and Rikku with Victorious. Be mindful of when he is about to cast Ultima, indicated by Seymour glowing red and using Dispel on your party. You can choose to use Hastega, though Seymour will likely cast Dispel on you for this and any other buffs you try to bestow on your party. You can take advantage of Seymour’s weakness to an element by Doublecasting, though you might give Seymour a chance to use -aga versions of a spell four times.

You can minimize the damage Seymour’s spells do at the start of the battle by attacking one of the Mortiphasms with Wakka. Mortiphasms can only be hit by ranged attacks, so Wakka’s physical attacks and spells are the only way to flip them. Physical attacks turn them counterclockwise, while magic turns them clockwise.

Summons are incredibly useful for the fight. By pairing Seymour’s affinity to a certain element with an Aeon, you can absorb damage and use Overdrive. This is especially true when the Mortiphasms are all of a single color. This gives Seymour a significant weakness to the opposing element. Seymour starts off the fight with four fire Mortiphasms, so entering the fight with Yuna’s Overdrive fully-charged and summoning Shiva allows you to deal a good amount of damage early on.

You can further exploit Seymour’s current elemental weakness by using Mental Break. Lower his defenses as well with Armor Break and use Holy and Overdrives to stack even more damage until he is defeated.

2) Braska’s Final Aeon

First Form

FFX Inside Sin Walkthrough

Braska’s Final Aeon Boss Guide

When the battle begins, cast Hastega on the party and Slowga on the two Yu Pagodas accompanying the boss. Because of the boss’ weakness to various status effects, it is effective to use Kimahri’s Bad Breath Overdrive to inflict debuffs. You can also use Auron’s Banishing Blade and Zombie attack on him. The Yu Pagodas will cleanse these debuffs and heal the boss using Power Wave when they get their turn.

When the battle starts, try setting up your buffs, especially Protect and Regen. Bombard him with Doublecast Ultima or Flare to do heavy damage if you have them. Using Aeons like Bahamut, Magus Sisters, and Anima is also recommended and should be sent out for their Overdrives, though you could save them for the second phase of the fight if you can manage without using them in the first. When the boss uses Jecht Beam, be ready with Soft to remove the petrification from the affected party member, or equip armor that grants Stoneproof.

Do not attempt to use “Talk” during the first phase of the fight, as this significantly reduces the boss’ Overdrive gauge. It is only usable up to two times. This feature is best saved for the second phase of the fight, as the boss will gain a devastating new Overdrive that can wipe the entire party if given the chance to use it.

Second Form

FFX Inside Sin Walkthrough

In his final form, the boss retains much of the attacks he had during the first phase. He will now be able to delay the turn of targets hit with his normal attack. You will still have the Yu Yevon Pagodas to deal with as well, so reapply Hastega on your party and Slowga on the Pagodas. Remember to inflict multiple Debuffs on the boss again.

The second phase is the best time to unload with Aeon Overdrives if you can. Note that it is possible to instantly kill the boss using Yojimbo’s Zanmato. Keep your HP high enough to use “Talk” just before the boss is able to use its Overdrive. With enough burst damage, the boss can be defeated surprisingly quickly.

3) Aeons and Yu Yevon

You will need to battle all the Aeons in the game. it is impossible to lose, as your party will have Auto-Life that revives them when they die.

Yu Yevon does not have a lot of powerful attacks in his arsenal, except for Ultima. Have Auron use Zombie Attack on him and use Life to instantly kill him. Again, it is impossible to lose this fight.

After the last battle, enjoy the ending cutscenes
