A powerful punch on one target.

2) Double Punch

A powerful one-two punch combo on one target. Can one-shot most characters in the party.

3) Raise Dukes

Done when HP is below 9,000. The boss will automatically counter any physical attack.

Strategy

Take out the Guados first

The Guados will constantly heal Wendigo when it is attacked. You can use Petrify Grenades or Kimahri’s Stone Breath Overdrive on the Guados to prevent them from casting Protect and Shell when they are defeated. You can also try stealing the Potions from them to keep them from healing Wendigo.

Defeating Wendigo

Have Wakka use Dark Buster to reduce Wendigo’s accuracy. Sleep Attack is also particularly useful for momentarily stopping the boss from attacking. Wendigo is weak to fire, so Lulu or Yuna can unload on him to do big damage.

Attack Wendigo with Auron’s Power Break to minimize its damage. Have Yuna ready to use Life on party members as the boss can one-shot targets.

Use Dispel to remove Shell and Protect from Wendigo if you did not manage to petrify the Guados when you killed them. You can also summon Ixion and use Aerospark to negate the boss’ buffs.

You can burst down Wendigo by when he raises his arms with Yuna’s Overdrive and grand summoning Ifrit. Wendigo is weak to fire so Hellfire will take out a considerable chunk of its HP. Burst him down with fire spells to stack even more damage while preventing him from performing a counterattack.
