Attribute / Weapon Blue/Lance
Rank 3~4  stars
Title Adorable Knight
First Appearance Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade
Voice Actor Cherami Leigh

Gwendolyn is a knight from Ostia and the younger sister of Bors. Despite feeling awkward in her armor, she intends to master a defensive style of combat. Initially, she roamed around with Ogier and Bors. However, she eventually joined the Lycian army under Roy’s banner. In Fire Emblem Heroes, Gwendolyn still dons the armor and wields a Blue/Lance.

Stats

Gwendolyn, as an armored unit, has low Res but a decent defense. However, as a C-class armored unit, she’s easily replaced by heroes such as Hector, Sheena, and Draug. However, she appears to have pretty good Res even as an armored unit which players would prefer to exploit on. Gwendolyn, unfortunately, is the cheaper version of Effie who Effie who has better stats than she does.

Strategy

Gwendolyn has the same amount of base stats with Draug and Sheena. She has the second highest Defense with a relatively okay Res. This makes her different from the usual Armored units who are completely susceptible to Tome-Users. However, she doesn’t have Distant Counter which would have helped her defeat tome units who intend to attack her. Unfortunately, Distant Counter only appears on Hector so the choice is based on one’s discretion on who to keep.

Also, for Gwendolyn, it’s best to focus on what she already has instead of granting her versatility. One trait that she can use is Swordbreaker which gives her further advantage against Red/Sword units. Lancebreaker can also grant her better ground against other Lance-users. To give her attack a better punch, granting her Deathblow might give her more power for her battle capacity. Goad Armor also works but again, it belongs on Hector who has better stats than Gwendolyn.

Counter

  • Selena – Selena may be a Red/Sword Infantry unit but she can still deal damage to armored enemies.
  • Nino – Nino, as a Green Tome, can deal heavy damage against Blue/Lance units. Especially since she can attack from a distance, Nino has an obvious advantage against Gwendolyn even with her decent Res.
  • Julia – Julia, having high ATK, can tear through Gwendolyn’s Res without difficulty.
  • Florina – Color affinity does not matter with her and Gwendolyn. Florina has the Heavy Lance that allows her to deal increased damage against Armored units.
  • EstEst is similar to Florina save that she has higher ATK.
  • Oboro – Oboro also has Heavy Lance like Est and Florina. However, she does not have the mobility that they have.
  • Cherche – A wyvern rider, Cherche can cover wide distances and quickly eliminate Gwendolyn even before she can move.
  • Frederick – Frederick, as a cavalry unit, can chase Gwendolyn easily.
