Roy is the son of Eliwood, Marquess of Pherae. He soon became a talented leader of the army, in replacement of Eliwood. In Fire Emblem: Binding Blade, he became close friends with Lilina. At the same time, he became Cecilia‘s student. In Fire Emblem Heroes, Roy is a Red/Sword Infantry unit.
Stats
Roy is more suited for dealing with mages. While he has similar Atk and HP to Marth, he has slightly lower defense but higher Res. His speed allows him to deal punishing blows before the enemy can do so. He’s quite a good starter Red/Sword for those who want something simple and easy to deal with.

Strategy
Roy is a jack-of-all-trades character similar to Corrin (M). He can either play a glass cannon or a tanky unit but can never truly specialize in either or. However, he does have the ability to punish heavily due to his high ATK. If using him with his base skills then, his Triangle Adept will given him an advantage against Green Units. This can make him into an armor slayer and take out Green Armor units like Sheena and Hector.
A good combination that works with him is Quick Riposte or Vantage, allowing him to tear through enemies easily. Distant Counter would work as well as it will cover his weakness against Tome Users.
Counter
- Delthea – Delthea has a strong ATK power that makes his Res look bad. The fact that she’s a blue/tome also makes her incredibly potent against Roy.
- Celica – While Celica is a Red/Tome, her magic deals heavy damage especially when at full HP.
- Robin (M) – Tanky in both Def and Res, Robin (M) can soak up incoming damage from Roy before throwing it back at him. He can instantly one-shot Roy without needing to learn Retribution.
- Kagero – Kagero has a weapon that allows her to deal extra damage to infantry units.
