Lon’qu is a foreigner that hails from the city of Chon’sin. As a young boy, he lost a friend which resulted to his gynophobia. However, he soon fled from Chon’sin and opted to train. Years after, he then returns and opts to become Basilio’s champion. In Fire Emblem Heroes, he returns as a Red/Sword.

Stats

Lon’qu’s specialty lies in his Speed and Attack. This easily is augmented by Vantage which allows him to counter attack depending on his HP. However, Lon’qu cannot soak up damage unlike most red/swords. His stats are somewhat similar to Chrom’s, with the latter having better defense.

Strategy

Lon’qu’s biggest asset his speed and his ATK. His defensive stats are completely mediocre which makes him a terrible idea to put in the front line as a tank. He has a similar use to Chrom but with one advantage. He is the only 4☆ capable of using all three levels of Vantage. Whereas characters like Gordin, need to reach 5☆ in order to utilize all three levels of Vantage.

Lon’qu is more of a sweeper than a tanker. He can assassinate and peel away at enemy lines, taking out focal enemies. His attack can take down tomes and daggers which can give his team problems. Because Tomes have low defensive and resistance, Lon’qu can quickly take them out. However, he needs heroes that can either shield him or pull him back should he over-extend.

For his weapon, players can opt to give Lon’qu Brave Sword. Despite the demerit of -5 on speed, Lon’qu’s base speed is good enough to cushion the demerit. This makes him increasingly deadly especially when fighting units that have heightened defense. Using Brave Sword, Lon’qu will now have the chance to inflict four hits with his already devastating attack. Deathblow if paired with this weapon can also put enemies down easily.

Quick Riposte can also do well for Lon’qu when he uses the Brave Sword. This allows him to lessen the incoming damage, preventing other heroes from dealing damage to other enemies.

Counter

  • Delthea – Delthea has a strong ATK power that makes his Res look bad. The fact that she’s a blue/tome also makes her incredibly potent against Lon’qu. However, she must have a wall splitting them apart or Lon’qu can easily walk up to her and defeat her.
  • Subaki – Using Speed + with a combination of Escutcheon or any damage reducing skill, Subaki can instantly catch up with Lon’qu.
  • Clive – As a physical tank and a cavalry, Clive can easily soak up damage coming from Lon’qu and defeat him almost immediately if tricked up right.
  • Kagero – Kagero has a weapon that allows her to deal extra damage to infantry units.
