Delthea remains faithful to her Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia counterpart as she preserves a default kit which falls as a glasscannon mage with pathetic Defense. Judging from her passive skills alone, she has most of the tools to deal serious amounts of damage during the Player Phase and can exchange attacks against other Tome users exceptionally well.

Strategy

In terms of stats alone, Delthea possesses a significant amount of Magic Atk among blue tome users factoring in her Mt and Passive Skills. For longer challenges her default Special comes in handy and can be saved for later.

As a blue tome unit she faces stiff competition with Linde and Mae for a slot. With all things held constant, no boon/ no bane Delthea sports a higher Atk and Res stat, while a no boon/ no bane Linde is well-rounded with more on the physical durability and Speed. Similarly, no boon/ bane Delthea with the default kit has a higher Mt than no boon/ bane Mae, whose stats are similar to Linde’s save for having more Def at the expense of Speed.

Her attack is augmented by Death Blow 3, granting offensive pressure against all units within her range at the start of the player phase. In addition, she doubles as a support unit possessing both Dark Aura and Drive Atk 3 in her default kit allowing her allies to deal net knockouts before the enemy gets the chance to do so.

One of her drawbacks however is that she is in fact a glasscannon. As a remedy, put her at the back line away from the enemy’s range after she successfully ORKOs an enemy hero to preserve more buffs for later. This can be done by pairing a hero with Drawback to pull her out of harm’s way, or by pairing a Dancer/Singer such as Olivia.

She pairs well with high Def low Atk units such as Ninian who covers Delthea’s Defense by standing on the front line while Delthea snipes them from the back. Ninian also appreciates Delthea’s Drive Atk 3, granting Ninian an offensive role apart from focusing only on Dance. She also appreciates healing from neutral units such as Elise to allow her to save Miracle for later.

Counter

  • Sonya – With Res Ploy as a default kit, she can make quick work of Delthea if she is within the AoE during the enemy phase.
  • Nino – Whether Nino carries Skill inheritance or not, she can leave Delthea seriously damaged.
  • Linde – Almost a mirror match albeit for her higher offensive stats to worsen the situation. After engaging in combat, it leaves both heroes within KO range on the next phase.
  • Hector – Apart from type advantage, with some Res investment he can inflict lethal damage to her once he catches up.
