Chrom is the father of Lucina and the leader of the Sheperds. In Fire Emblem Awakening, he is a close friend of Robin (M). As the prince of Ylisse, he is meant to succeed the throne. Chrom is also the descendant of the Hero-King Marth. In Fire Emblem Heroes, he wields a sword under the Red Attribute.
Stats
Chrom is really meant for the front lines with his high ATK, DEF, and Spd. However, he cannot fight against Tomes should he become cornered. This makes him rather squishy against tome users such as Robin (M) and Delthea. As a physical hitter, he’s not meant to tank but he can still soak up some physical damage.

Strategy
Chrom has lower stats than Lucina and Alm but, can serve as a decent replacement until they appear. He also wields Falchion but requires the player to rank up Chrom to 5☆. Majority of his base traits involve him becoming a Def Buff Tower. He can buff himself in terms of Def which helps him soak up physical attacks. However, his lack of Res ability requires him to have a pocket healer such as Clarine and Azama.
In terms of skill inheritance, Chrom can either go for Speed or Attack. Darting Blow or Death Blow grants Spd+2 or Atk+2 respectively, depending on what the player wants Chrom to go as. For his special move, Chrom can learn Draconic Aura which increases damage based on his already high ATK. Swordbreaker can help him deal damage to sword units and Vantage will allow him to strike first.
Counter
- Robin (M) – Robin (M) is a tank for a Blue Tome with the exact weapon meant to kill Chrom. As a Blue Tome, he can move from a distance and take down Chrom with ease.
- Delthea – Delthea‘s high ATK can one-shot Chrom.
- Linde – Linde is a Blue Tome with high speed and high ATK which can quickly destroy Chrom.
- Corrin (F) – Despite being a Dragon, she can out-run Chrom and deal heavy damage to him.
