Laphicet’s Battle style
His Arcane Artes consists of varying attributes which is balanced by his access to several Void Holy Servant Artes. However, melee is not Laphicet’s strong point, nor does he fare well against Void attribute enemies. Thus it is wise to focus on unleashing projectiles by firing at a moderate distance.

Soul Break
Divide Pain
At the cost of 1 Soul with 3 SG, Laphicet is able to activate his Soul Break Divide Pain by pressing R2. This gives him HP and BG Recovery, and in addition weakens the damage to his allies by half for a 5 second duration. An added Area of Effect is that all enemies affected within the range suffer from Guard Break, this is supported by the healing effect when the AoE wears off. This Soul Break works best against a swarm of enemies.
Stasis Force
With a similar Soul cost to Divide Pain, press R2 to make the enemies stagger at 0.5 seconds for 4 seconds. This is recommended to connect to an Arte-Chain.
Soul Distortion
Similar to the above mentioned Soul Break soul costs, this is triggered by using R2. This effect nullifies the Soul requirement of all allies for seconds. This lengthens the Arte-Chains of all party members, including Soul Breaks.

Bind order (Basic Mystic Artes)
Press and hold L2 at the cost of 3 BG when chaining an Arte.
Chaos Bloom (Intermediate Mystic Artes)
Long press L2 at the cost of 4 BG as you connect to an 8 Arte-Chain.
Indignation (Advanced Mystic Artes)
Press and hold L2 at the cost of 5 BG while activating Soul Distortion.
How to Obtain Soul Distortion and Indignation
Defeat the Unlawful Vessel at the Eight-headed Dragon, Innominat.
