While you can increase your damage potential using Dual Mystic Artes, you can actually perform a more devastating attack with all six characters by chaining each character’s MA. This allows Velvet and her party to execute them in rapid succession one after the other.
Chaining Mystic Artes
To connect each character’s MA, first perform a regular MA with one of your characters. Then, as the MA animation commences, press and hold the L2 button + the directional pad that corresponds to another character in the party. This will allow that character to perform his or her MA immediately after the previous character.
For a six-character MA Chain, you should always perform the first and second character switches using the Switch Blast directions.
The input therefore should be:
L2 (Normal MA) > Press and hold L2 + Directional Pad Up (Switch Blast) > L2 + Directional Pad Down (Switch Blast) > L2 + Right Directional Pad >L2 + Right Directional Pad >L2 + Right Directional Pad
You can also press the Left Directional Pad (instead of the Right) three times after inputting the two Switch Blast Directional buttons.
This allows the first two characters to use Level 1 MA, the second two Level 2, and the last two Level 3. Make sure that you have enough bars on the Blast Gauge (BG) to perform an MA with each character.
A six-character MA Chain requires a bit of timing to perform, but when done successfully, will overwhelm most enemies. This also allows you to unleash very long combos to obtain the 100+ hit combo trophy. Just put Magilou at the end of the chain since her level 3 MA has the most number of hits.
