Upgrading Equipment: Summary and Guide [Tales of Berseria/ToB]

Upgrading is a new but important aspect of Tales of Berseria. If you're going to want to take down a boss, make sure you have the proper gear.

How does Upgrading work?

When upgrading your equipment, each weapon uses a different set of items to increase and enhance its capabilities. This feature is introduced when Velvet meets up with Rokurou in Helvisa. Everytime you upgrade your weapon or your equipment, the stats of both the weapon and equipment increase. When the stats increase, it also opens new slots for the items to have added effects. Effects such as increase in ATK or damage towards a particular type of monster can helpful in battle.

Strengthening Bonus

Whenever there’s an upgrade, the requirements differ. When getting the second enhancement bonus, the number of items will either increase or decrease. Also, the number of enhancements can add up for every enhancement (ex. +10% –> +20%).

When choosing a certain kind of upgrade, make sure that it has the same effect. These effects can pile up and mix with other effects that can make your weapon and armour more deadly.
