How to Recruit all Hero Characters in Xenoblade Chronicles 3

Heroes are a group of additional party members that you can add to your active party in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. A recruited hero can be added to your team as the 7th active party member during battle.

Find their locations in-game

One of the methods to recruit a hero is to locate them in the world of Ionos. When you find a hero, talk to them and ask them to join your team.

Accomplish their quest

Most heroes require clearing quests in order for them to join your party.

Defeat them in battle

Some heroes may ask you to fight them in battle and win over them through strength.

Clear their Hero Quest

In addition to recruiting heroes, you are also required to accomplish their hero quest in order to unlock their class. Doing so will also give you access to their arts, perks, and outfits.

Hero Recruitment and Ascend Conditions

Each hero has his/her own availability recruitment conditions. Some heroes are acquired by playing through the main story while most must be recruited manually by exploration and doing quests:

Silvercoat Ethel	Recommended Level: Level 17 or higher. Location: Colony 4, Fornis Region Reach Chapter 3 and clear the quest: “No Want of Courage”.	Reach Chapter 7 and bring Cammuravi to the rear of Colony Omega. Must have Ethel in your active party.
Inscrutable Teach	Recommended Level: Level 25 or higher. Location: Alfeto Valley, Aetia Region Reach Chapter 3 and clear the quest: “Going Beyond Power” in Colony Gamma.	Reach Chapter 6 and clear the ascension quest: “Shadow of Enmity” in Colony Gamma. Must have cleared all “Teach’s Teachers” item requests. Must have Teach in your active party.
Dawnhero Isurd	Recommended Level: Level 27 or higher. Location: Clearwater Shelf, Pentelas Region Reach Chapter 4 and clear quest: “Unwavering Resolve” in Colony Lambda.	Reach Chapter 6 and clear the ascension quest: “Effervescent Heart” in Colony Lambda. Must have Isurd in your active party.
City’s Bulwark Monica	Reach Chapter 5 and clear quest: “Vandham’s Heir”.	Reach Chapter 7 and clear the ascension quest: “Promise to the Future”. Must have Monica in your active party.
Wrathfist Ghondor	Reach Chapter 6 and start the main story.	Reach Chapter 6 and clear the ascension quest: “Knowing Your Family” in Castle Agnus. Clear Side Story: Noah prior to the quest. Must have Ghondor in your active party.
Smoldering Cammuravi	Reach Chapter 6 and continue playing the main story. This occurs after clearing Side Story: Mio. Revisit Colony Omega and clear the quest: “A Twist of Fate”.	Reach Chapter 7 and go to the rear of Colony Omega. Must have Cammuravi in your active party.

Artificer Valdi	Recommended Level: Level 20 or higher. Location: Elsie’s Spout, Fornis Region Reach Chapter 3 and clear the quest: “The Kind Right Hand”.	Reach Chapter 6 and clear ascension quest: “I’m a Mechanic”. Must have cleared Repapa’s item request list in Colony 30 prior. Must have Valdi in your active party.
Dutiful Zeon	Recommended Level: Level 22 or higher. Location: Alfeto Valley Mouth, Aetia Region Reach Chapter 3 and clear the quest: “Where the Heart Is” in Colony 9.	Reach Chapter 5 and clear the ascension quest: “Reasons to Evolve” in Colony 9. Must have Zeon in your active party.
Peerless Riku and Manana	Recommended Level: Level 24 or higher. Location: Garf Mine Track, Pentelas Region Reach Chapter 3 and clear the quest: “A Nopon’s Counsel”.	Reach Chapter 6 and clear the ascension quest: “Culinary Repertoire” in Camp Inlet, Erythia. Must have Riku and Manana in your active party.
Ashenpelt Gray	Recommended Level: Level 26 or higher. Location: Murmur Rise, Aetia Region Reach Chapter 3 and clear quest: “A Gray Matter” in the eastern part of Aetia past the vines. Must have acquired the “Wall Climb” field skill prior.	Reach Chapter 5 and clear the ascension quest: “Payback for Treason”. Must have Gray in your active party.
Ghostbow Juniper	Recommended Level: Level 31 or higher. Location: Vista of Rhonnar, Pentelas Region Reach Chapter 4 and clear quest: “Natural Selection”.	Reach Chapter 6 and clear the ascension quest: “Survivors” in Colony Tau. Must have Juniper in your active party.
Undying Blade Ashera	Recommended Level: Level 36 or higher. Location: Syra Hovering Reefs, Keves Castle Reach Chapter 4 and clear quest: “The Wrath of Ashera” in Keves Castle region.	Reach Chapter 7 and clear the ascension quest: “A Deep-Seated Scar” in Old Kana Battlefield, Fornis Region. Must have Ashera in your active party.
Craftmaiden Alexandria	Recommended Level: Level 40 or higher. Location: Dies Arch, Fornis Region Reach Chapter 3/4 and clear quest: “Her Reasons” in Colony Iota.	Reach Chapter 7 and clear the ascension quest: “Inescapable Past” in Colony Iota. Must have cleared Colony Iota quests Must have delivered Colony Iota Goods to other Colonies using the Collectopaedia Card system. Must have Alexandria in your active party.
Proudbanner Fiona	Reach Chapter 5 and clear quest: “Transparent Dreams” in the western part of Erythia Sea.	Reach Chapter 6 and clear the ascension quest: “A Farewell Reset” in Colony Mu. Must have Fiona in your active party.
Defiant Triton	Reach Chapter 5 and clear quest: “Doing It My Way” in the eastern part of Erythia Sea.	Reach Chapter 5 and clear the ascension quest: “My Memories” in any Rest Spot. Must cook meal with Manana first to trigger. Must have cleared Colony 15-related quests. Must have Triton in your active party.
Glorysong Miyabi	Reach Chapter 6 and continue playing the main story. Clear Side Story: Mio prior to trigger.	Reach Chapter 7 and clear the ascension quest: “Happiness” in Castle Agnus. Clear Side Story: Noah first. Must have clear city-related quests. Must have Miyabi in your active party.
No.7 Segiri	Reach Chapter 6 and clear quest: “Inhumanity” in Upper Aetia. Must have cleared the quest: “Severed Connection”.	Clear the ascension quest: “Invisible Bond”. Must have fixed the Prison area for Colony 0 resisdents. Must have Segiri in your active party.

Post-Game Recruit Heroes

Nia, Queen of Agnus	Finish the main story and finish the end credits. Move to post-game and look for her at the Cloudkeep.	Visit four areas: Founder Shrine in City, Agnus Castle, Saffronia Tree at Fornis Region, Tower Camp in Pentelas Region. Get Mio to Rank 10 in Lifesage class and discuss at the Rest Spot. Clear the ascension quest: “Grasping My Future” Must have Nia in your active party.
Melia, Queen of Keves	Finish the main story and finish the end credits. Move to post-game and look for her at the Keves Castle, 1/F.	Get Melia to Rank 10 in Royal Summoner class and move to Keves Castle. Clear the ascension quest: “From Atop Her Throne” Must have Melia in your active party.
