Totomostro Guide [Final Fantasy 15/ FFXV]

THIS SECTION CONTAINS A GUIDE ON THE TOTOMOSTRO MINI-GAME FOR FINAL FANTASY XV

This page contains a guide on the Totomostro mini game in Final Fantasy XV, including basic mechanics, tips on winning Galviano medals, and prizes.

Totomostro Guide

Totomosto is a mini-game in Final Fantasy XV where you must earn meals by betting in battles pitting groups of monsters against each other. Favorable outcomes will win you more medals that you can trade for prizes, while unfavorable ones will cost you the wager.

Totomostro Tournaments are held in the Arena Galviano. To get there, take the gondola from the station northeast of Altissia (under the Parco Listro Sud canopy) to the colosseum.

Medals

Totomostro tournaments use Galviano medals as the standard currency, which you will lose or gain depending on the outcome of battles. When betting in the tournament for the first time, you will need to purchase a medal for 10 Gil each.

You can choose to buy as many as you can afford since taking and hopefully benefiting from risks is the whole idea of betting games. Feel free also to save before going to the arena to wager so you can reload the game when you call a really bad bet.

Wagering

Three factors must be considered when placing your bets on a team of monsters:

  • Odds: Odds is the ratio between the amounts staked by all betters. A higher number will net you a higher reward, though the risks are greater as well.
  • Condition: This shows how physically fit the team is as a whole, indicated by blue arrows in the gauge.
  • Team Composition: From your accumulated experience in battling different monsters in the game, you should develop sound judgement on how a monster would perform in the arena. You should take into account its resilience, attack power, attack frequency and even its area-of-effect techniques. As a general rule, the level of monsters is always a first consideration, so it is logical to assume that a high-level monster will win over a group of lower-level monsters.

Battles

During battles, you can cheer your team on using different kinds of horns. These can be purchased from the merchant at the stall a few steps fro the gondola station that leads to the Arena Galviano.

Horns

Horn Effect Cost
Horn of Resolve Increases the team’s attack 30000
Horn of Tenacity Increases the team’s defense 24000
Horn of Fortitude Heals the team Available by default
Horn of Cleansing Cures the team of status ailments 8000
Horn of madness Increases the monster’s strength but decreases its defense 18000

You can change horns using the L1 and R1 buttons. To use a horn, press the circle button repeatedly when the screen prompts you. The horn’s effect will activate after completely filling the gauge.

Outcomes

  • Your Team Won: All medals wagered are multiplied by the odds and added to your balance.
  • Your Team Lost: All medals wagered are lost.
  • Draw: All wagered medals are returned.
