Strategy

Burst Down the Crawler

Since the Negator prevents any party member from using magic, Rikku’s Lightning Marbles and any Lightningstrike weapon on Wakka are good choices for destroying it. The Negator will be in the air, so can only be hit with ranged attacks. You can have Wakka come into the fight with a full Overdrive gauge to take out the Negator or attack the Crawler directly.

When the Negator is destroyed, you will need to quickly burst down the Crawler, as it will begin charging its Mana Beam attack. A good strategy is to have Lulu’s Overdrive ready before the fight and unload on it with Thundara Fury when the Negator has been dealt with. You can follow it up by summoning Ixion and attacking with Thor’s Hammer. Continue pummeling the Crawler with attacks until it is destroyed before it has the chance to use Mana Beam.

You can also try to set up buffs like Haste and use Slow and Delay Attack to gain a speed advantage in the fight.
