Area: Mi’ihen Highroad
| 1 | From Luca, continue through Mi’ihen Highroad until you reach the exit which leads to Mushroom Rock Road. |

| 2 | Loot the chests that you come across. |
| 2 | Head to the Travel Agency for a cutscene. |
| 3 | Purchase items from the counter, then trail behind the girl. |
| 4 | Follow her to the cliff, then speak to her. |
| 5 | Start the mission “Cuckoo for Chocobos!” |
| 6 | Follow Rikku to the south zone. |
| 7 | Once she finds the chocobo, head immediately to Rikku’s side. |
| 8 | Collect the trail of feathers. |
| 9 | Keep following Rikku in the south zone. |
| 10 | Whenever Rikku points one out, you can select either “Sure” to check the chest or “Not this time” to continue the hunt. |
| 11 | Once you reach the exit of the south zone, a cutscene will play. |
| 12 | Guess where the chocobo will run to. You will have to get it right two to three times. |
| 13 | Go down the highroad and make a pitstop on the nearest fork to the right. |
| 14 | Keep following the chocobo until you reach a cutscene. |
| 15 | Return to the starting point near a hover. |
| 16 | Talk to the pilot to ask for help to finish the mission. |
| 17 | Optional: Save near the Travel Agency. |
| 18 | Follow Rikku and Paine for a cutscene. |
| 19 | Go down the ravine and rescue the girl. |
| 20 | Pass through the bridge and go down to arrive near Mushroom Rock Road entrance. |
| 21 | Continue right, south, then follow the path to battle Chocobo Eater. |
| 22 | Watch the cutscenes. |
| 23 | Exit the airship to return to Highroad, then proceed to the exit near the north zone. |
| 24 | Interact with Calli and Clasko to invite them to the airship. |
| 25 | Depart for Mushroom Rock Road. |
Strategy
Clean the Highroad
You can score a reward for collecting the feathers on the ground while pursuing the runaway chocobo.

Boss: Chocobo Eater
Chocobo Eater cannot withstand fire attacks, so have one party member use the Black Mage dressphere and cast fire spells. Having a Songstress can also come in handy since she can prevent the boss from using its spells. You can also snatch some items with the Thief’s skills to increase your earnings. The fight is quite short, so keep attacking Chocobo Eater to knock it out.
