There are 3 types of game difficulty in Final Fantasy XVI (FF16) which are listed below.

About Timely Accessories

Timely accessories are excellent pieces of equipment that partially automate Clive’s actions.

It is recommended to equip timely accessories that compensate for your things you are not good at in the game.

Timely Accessories	Effect
Ring of Timely Strikes	By just pressing ◻︎, you can make use of Clive’s equipped abilities and Eikonic Feats to perform a variety of attacks.
Ring of Timely Evasion	When you are about to be attacked by an enemy, if Clive is able to evade it, he will automatically dodge it.
Ring of Timely Focus	When you are about to take damage from an attack, if Clive can use dodge, time will slow down (allowing you to know that an attack is coming).
Ring of Timely Healing	If Clive’s HP falls below a certain value, he will automatically use Potions. If you have both a Potion and a High Potion, the former will be used first.
Ring of Timely Assistance	Instructions to Torgal will be automatically executed in response to Clive’s attacks.

No difficulty-locked equipment.

There are no weapons or accessories that can only be obtained in Action Focus difficulty, so it is possible to obtain all items even if you are playing on Story Focus difficulty.

How to Change the Difficulty

Difficulty can be changed at any time from Game Settings → Play Mode

It is recommended to play on Action Focus at first, and switch to Story Focus if you find the game to be difficult.
