Orichalcum is among the rare materials required to forge Gotterdammerung, the strongest sword for Clive in New Game (NG). The legendary armament features very high attack and will, making it a must-have weapon towards the late stages of the game.

Once you reach New Game Plus (NG+) on Final Fantasy Mode, you will be able to craft Ultima Weapon, the best weapon for Clive in the entire game. Among the materials you will need to make the game’s best sword is Gotterdammerung Reforged that also requires Orichalcum.
