How to Get Medal of Valor Guide for Final Fantasy XVI (FF16)
Can be obtained by defeating specific bosses without taking any damage.
Medals of Valor are special Curiosity items rewarded for defeating bosses without getting hit.
Unlocks the You’re Not the Boss of Me achievement (Bronze trophy) when you no-damage a boss for the first time.
The You’re Not the Boss of Me achievement (Bronze trophy) is unlocked for being rewarded with a Medal of Valor for the first time.

Midnight Raven Medal of Valor is required to get 100% completion (Platinum).
Note that obtaining the Midnight Raven Medal of Valor is required to get the Platinum trophy (all achievements unlocked). It is the only Medal of Valor Curiosity that counts towards unlocking the For the Hoard achievement (obtain all Curiosities). This means that Midnight Raven is the only boss that you need defeat without getting hit to get 100% completion.

Midnight Raven Medal of Valor is not required for the “For the Hoard” achievement. I got my Medal of Valor from defeating the War Panther during my first play through and unlocked the trophy. I do believe that you can unlock the trophy after getting any of the medals.
