How to Sprint Guide for Final Fantasy XVI (FF16)
Can be done in specific areas.
It is possible to move around faster by sprinting in Final Fantasy XVI (FF16), though the areas to that allow you to do it are limited. Wide field maps, for instance, will let Clive dash if you tilt the Left Analog Stick towards a specific direction for a while.

How to Do a Sprint
Tilt the L stick for about 5 seconds towards the direction you want to move.
To sprint, simply tilt the Left Analog Stick for about 5 seconds in the direction you want to go. As previously mentioned, you can usually only sprint in wide open fields. Note that there is also no way to immediately switch from walking to sprinting (either by pressing down on the left stick or pressing any other button).
How to Move Faster Without Sprinting
Ride a Chocobo.
As with previous Final Fantasy titles, FF16 lets you ride a Chocobo to get around faster. To unlock Clive’s own personal feathered mount, you must complete the quest “The White-Winged Wonder” which becomes available during “The Gathering Storm” section of the main story.
