Mastering Abilities Guide for Final Fantasy XVI (FF16)
What is Mastering an ability?
The final enhancement of an ability (MASTER).
In Final Fantasy XVI (FF16), Clive’s abilities can be upgraded twice, with the second enhancement leveling up a skill to its Master version (displayed as MASTER on the abilities screen).
Eikonic Feats, meanwhile, will reach Master by just enhancing the ability once.
Abilities and Eikonic Feats can new properties when Mastered.
Mastering Clive’s abilities and Eikonic Feats will change the characteristics of those abilities, making them more useful or potent in battle.
Mastered Eikonic Feats can be equipped on other Eikons.
If you master an Eikonic Feat of a specific Eikon, you can equip it to another Eikon even if the move does not originally belong to them (such as equipping Garuda with Phoenix’s ability).
How to Learn and Upgrade Abilities
Spend Ability Points at the Abilities screen.
Press the Option button to open the menu screen and select Abilities. Here, you can learn and upgrade Clive’s different abilities and feats in the game using Ability Points.
