What is Vivian’s Reports?

A feature that allows you to view The Grand Cast and Situation Map.

The Vivian Reports is a feature in Final Fantasy XVI (FF16) that allows you to view information on main characters, their relationships, and the world situation that appearing in the story. You can use the feature when you want to look back in your playthrough from the beginning (such as after you have cleared the main story).

Checking the Year of the Realm

When viewing information on the main characters in Vivian’s Reports, you can go through them in chronological order within the game’s story. Press L1 and R1 to adjust the time of the year and see the information.

Looking Back Using Active Time Lore

Using Vivian’s Reports, you can look back on the “Active Time Lore” seen during the story. Use it when you miss something during your playthrough or when you want to read back in detail after clearing the game.

Listening to Past Lessons from Vivian

You can also listen to past lessons from Vivian that become available at turning points of the story via Vivian’s Reports. It is good to use this feature for checking the past and present story situation along with the reflections of the main characters.

How to Unlock Vivian’s Reports and Vivian’s Locations

Vivian’s Reports is unlocked after progressing through the main story quest “Home, Sweet Home”.

Vivian Ninetales is found in the game’s central hub area (Cid’s Hideaway).

Everything can be viewed on the second playthrough (New Game Plus).

Beating the game once and beginning a New Game Plus (NG+) playthrough lets you view all information on main characters and the world situation once you unlock Vivian’s Reports again. As with your first run, Vivian’s Reports becomes available when you reach “Home, Sweet Home” during the main story.
