Azama appears in Fire Emblem Fates as one of the attendants of Hinoka. On the outside, he has a calm and wise exterior. This lead to Hinoka eventually hiring him as one of her personal retainers. However, in reality, Azama is quite aloof with a nihilistic view of the world. In Fire Emblem Heroes, he is a Colorless/Staff user.

Stats

Azama is a tanky healer with high DEF and high RES. This makes him quite valuable as a Healer especially due to some of his skulls such as Solid Earth Balm which increases DEF. Azama also has a large HP pool which is quite valuable to healers especially in combat.

Strategy

Azama is quite a tanky healer. On base level, he doesn’t appear to do much other than heal and lower the ATK of the enemy. His heals also grant defensive boons which can help in keeping certain tome users alive.

At first sight, he simply appears as a useless healer since Clarine has more speed. However, he can become a healing wall due to his innately large DEF and HP. As he soaks up the damage, he can heal tome users such as Celica or Katarina. He can also heal Hawkeye or any other tank such as Hector to keep them going.

But Azama can quickly become an A class healer. One build that’s possible is to use Heavenly Light and Live to Serve. Those two skills are inheritable from Wrys, a common 3☆ healer. After he inherits the skills, players can also give him defense giving buffs or even Hone ATK to help boost the ATK of his allies. As a heavy healer, he can continuously soak up damage while healing others. This then makes him an opportune tank for Tome users like Katarina and Robin (M).

Counter

• Cecilia – Cecilia‘s final weapon allows her to deal extra damage to colorless heroes.
• Kagero – Kagero‘s weapon allows her to deal extra damage against Infantry.
• Katarina – Katarina can deal heavy damage as long as she’s surrounded by allies.
• Sonya – Sonya gains an additional 10 damage whenever she engages the enemy.
• Celica – Celica has a high ATK especially at Full HP. With Distant DEF, she can also counter Azama’s damage.
• Delthea – Delthea has insanely high ATK that can obliterate Azama in one shot.
