Attack Types and Elements Explained in One Piece Odyssey
Attack Types are one aspect of the battle system in One Piece Odyssey. They are essentially damage categories that have been assigned to each member of your party.
A Rock-Paper-Scissor Mechanic
Each party member and foe has a certain Power, Speed, and Technique affinity, which functions as a rock-paper-scissor mechanic during battle.
How to spot a Weakness and Resistance
When in battle, choose a party member and alternate between utilizing a normal attack and a battle skill to see how much damage you deal. Also, examine the enemy icon on the left screen.
If the symbol is a red arrow pointing upward, your character’s damage is favorable. If not, a blue arrow pointing downward will show, denoting a disadvantage.
Attack and Elemental Damage Types
Attack types apply to both normal attacks and battle skills. Each party member only has one Attack Type and it applies to both normal attack and battle skills.
Some battle skills have bonus elemental effects such as Burn, Freeze, and Lightning. Each party member specializes in a specific elemental type that can inflict status changes.
