How to Enable Auto Battle Guide for One Piece Odyssey

Select Switch Battle Mode from Tactics.

To enable Auto Battle, go into an encounter and open the Tactics menu. Then, choose Switch Battle Mode and press the Auto-Battle button. This will cause the AI to use skills and attacks by itself which is very useful when manually engaging in handling combat becomes too tedious.

Disable Auto Battle using the △ button.

Recommended for fighting bosses or clearing Dramatic Scene objectives.

You can turn off Auto Battle at any time during an encounter by pressing the △ button. Note that the AI will continue to act on its own even after the fight has ended if you do not disable it. This means that Auto Battle will still be in effect when you go into the next encounter. Because of this, it is recommended to turn off the setting prior to going into tough encounters, especially boss fights.

It is also generally recommended to turn off Auto Battle when Dramatic Scene objectives appear as the AI will simply ignore these bonus objectives. Clearing these optional conditions allows you to get useful rewards such as additional experience, money, and loot so be sure to operate the party manually to meet them.

There are no customizable settings for Auto Battle.

For Auto Battle, you cannot set specific settings such as having the AI use only skills or only regular attacks. Do not use Auto Battle if you want to conserve Tension Points (TP) as the AI will use skills liberally throughout the fight.
