Level up to increase character stats.

You should also try to do Dramatic Challenge objectives whenever they appear as these may reward you with more EXP at the end of a battle.

Be mindful of the party’s composition.
You will find yourself going up against various enemies that have different strengths and weaknesses. Try to switch the active party roster depending on the foes encountered to gain the attack type advantage in battle. This becomes increasingly important as you take on later bosses in the game.
Disable Auto Battle when necessary.
Enabling Auto Battle causes your party to fight on their own, causing them to waste Tension Points (TP) by using skills liberally or ignoring Dramatic Scene objectives entirely. Because of this, it is generally recommended to avoid using Auto Battle as much as possible, especially against bosses.
