What is the Chicago Sweeper?
The Chicago Sweeper or Chicago Typewriter is a secret obtainable weapon in Resident Evil 4 Remake. It is among the best weapons in the game owing to its high rate of fire and damage output, allowing you to mow down regular enemies and bosses with ease.
In terms of appearance, the Chicago Sweeper is essentially a representation of the real-world Thompson submachine gun or “Tommy Gun.” The weapon is among the most recognizable firearms in pop culture because of its distinctive ammo drum and appearance in various gangster films, video games, and other media.
Unlocked by getting A rank on Professional difficulty (completion time of 7 hours or less).
To get the Chicago Sweeper, you must beat the game on Professional difficulty with an A Completion Rank. This requires you to clear the run in 7 hours or less which is quite a steep requirements even for most veterans to the series. To access Professional mode, you will need to complete the main story for the first time on any difficulty. Afterwards, the weapon will become available for purchase from Extra Content Shop (Weapons) by exchanging Challenge Points (CP).

To get infinite ammo for the Chicago Sweeper, you must first purchase all tune-up (upgrade) stages for the weapon. Afterwards, the Exclusive weapon upgrade (ammo never runs out) will become available on the tune-up screen. Note that you can skip the initial requirements by purchasing Exclusive Upgrade Tickets using Spinels.

Pinstripe Mafia Outfit (Leon) Hat Trick
Leon’s unique Hat Trick gesture from the original game can be also performed in the remake if you have the character equip the Pinstripe Mafia Outfit and Chicago Sweeper. To do the Hat Trick, press the button to reload while aiming the Chicago Sweeper. This will cause Leon to grunt and adjust his hat. Do this four (4) times and Leon will throw his hat in the air and catch it while striking a stylish pose.
