How to Unlock Mad Chainsaw Mode Guide for Resident Evil 4 Remake Chainsaw Demo

What is Mad Chainsaw Mode?

Mad Chainsaw Mode is a secret difficulty mode exclusive to the Resident Evil 4 Remake (Biohazard RE 4) Chainsaw Demo. Dubbed an “extreme difficulty”, Mad Chainsaw Mode features several changes from the trial version’s Standard difficulty to make the game more challenging for hardcore players.

Randomly becomes available when starting the Chainsaw Demo.

Mad Chainsaw Mode can be accessed randomly upon beginning the playable Chainsaw Demo. From the demo’s start screen, go to MAIN STORY. You will know you have unlocked the secret mode if a notice with EXTREME DIFFICULTY “MAD CHAINSAW MODE” INCOMING! is displayed on the screen.

If Mad Chainsaw Mode does not appear, try restarting the game again.

Changes in Mad Chainsaw Mode

All enemies encountered are more aggressive than those in Standard difficulty.
All enemies have increased health and damage output.
Enemy placement is altered.
Stronger version of Chainsaw Man appears (equipped with flaming chainsaw).
Checkpoints are disabled.
