Increasing Weapon Proficiency

In The Surge, there is a mechanic called “Weapon Proficiency” which is a gauge used for you see the level of proficiency of the weapon you are holding. Leveling up your proficiency gradually for each weapon makes them deal more damage, so this is an important mechanic if you want to kill enemies much easier.

Whenever you kill enemies, the weapon proficiency meter will appear at the bottom-left corner of the screen. This meter will gradually turn into orange, which signifies that the proficiency moved to the next level.

How to Increase Weapon Proficiency

As said before, killing enemies earn you proficiency points for the weapon type that you are using. There are different weapon types that you can use in the game such as staff, heavy-duty, single-rig, etc.

It is much better if you focus on leveling up the proficiency of one weapon type first before moving onto the next one, as this can make the leveling process much easier.

Also, make sure that you are targeting the enemies’ weaknesses (exposed body parts) to get more proficiency points.
