How to Do Chip Shots
A chip shot is a type of shot that lifts the ball high in the air using a short kick. Also called a lob, the shot allows the ball to go over the goalkeeper and score a goal.
Summary
The chip shot is performed by holding the L1 button and pressing the shoot button (L1 + ◯). If done correctly, your player will kick the ball from underneath and give the ball more lift to go over the opponent’s goalie.
It should be noted that, as with all techniques, the characteristics of each finesse shot differs from player to player. Some players will have the advantage of still having speed and power to their finesse shot because of their spread of attributes.
Tips for Chip Shots
- The chip shot is very effective during one-on-one situations against the opponent’s goalkeeper. You can use the shot to easily score against opponents who tend to move their goalie too far off the goal line.
- The chip shot can also be performed during penalty kicks, though you should be aware if your opponent can read and react to it before attempting it.
