How to Turn Off Timed Finishing

FIFA 21 is available on multiple platforms: Google Stadia, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows (PC).

What is Timed Finishing?

Timed Finishing is a mechanic that allows you to control the quality of your shots mechanically by pressing the shoot button twice. The timing at which you press shoot button for the second time determines whether your player performs a more powerful and more accurate shot or one that is more likely to miss the mark.

Tips for Shooting

Timed Finishing can be activated for all types of shots so it may provide a fair bit of mechanical challenge alongside deciding which shot to make during a match.

Why You Should Turn It Off

It is generally recommended to turn Timed Finishing off as this offers a degree of risk when attempting to score a goal. This becomes increasingly dangerous when playing against a strong opponent who can easily turn the match around if you miss. The mechanic can be disabled by going to Customise from the game’s main menu.

Steps to Turn Off Timed Finishing

1 From the main menu, go to Customise.
2 Select Settings.
3 Under Controller Settings, scroll down to Timed Finishing.
4 Use the left analog stick or directional pad right to set Timed Finishing to Off.
