How to Do Finesse Shots
A finesse shot is a shot that prioritizes the ball’s placement instead of raw power. It is best done when inside the box as success of the finesse shot lies in the ball’s curved trajectory as opposed to power and speed.
Summary
The finesse shot is done by holding down the R1 button and pressing the shoot button (R1 + ◯). If done correctly, your player will hit the ball with the inside of their foot, resulting in the ball having a noticeable curve as it travels to the corner of the goal post.
It should be noted that, as with all techniques, the characteristics of each finesse shot differs from player to player. Some players will have the advantage of still having speed and power to their finesse shot because of their spread of attributes.
Tips for Finesse Shots
- Always try to do the finesse shot when inside the box. It will, however, likely fall short on accuracy if you drill the ball at short range.
- The higher you want the ball to come in at the corners, the more power you should add to the shot.
