Map Battle

Desaix, the bearer of the Dracoshield is a formidable opponent and difficult to take down. In the event that you take out Slayde, this will prompt Desaix to escape.

If you manage to defeat him, his shield will be passed down to you.

Normal

In comparison to other Map battles, the learning curve becomes steep. However do not fret as familiarity with the map orientation and taking out the enemies one by one in the correct order will be the key to success.

Preparation

Basically there are two ways to execute the infiltration:

  • Enter through the left door then push through the center portion.
  • Begin from the right side wall, then go through the northeast door.

Note that some doors are inaccessible unless you perform the “open” command.

Begin by commanding the Pegasus Knight Clair to cross the wall to unlock the door on the lower left.

With the exception of your Archer unit and Silque, assign the remaining units to rally to the door on the southwest. Then have Archer and Silque take care of the opposing Archer that stands on the right path.

In case you have the Steel or Iron Bow in possession, you can deal damage without any risk of suffering a counter.

With the Archer Python on your side, it is somewhat lacking to push through on his own. You must have another Villager ally rank up to Archer to handle this battle efficiently.

Once you take out the enemy Archer, focus on the enemy Cavalier next. With the enemy guarding the center immobile unless you come in contact to his range, you must call his attention slowly.

Keep in mind that when dealing with the enemy Cavalier, consider Slayde whose waiting at the back. Slayde is capable of transferring to a total of 8 tiles which is troublesome once you get into his peripheral vision.

To handle Slayde, be certain that no other enemy unit overlaps with his range. Slayde is particularly menacing due to his high Defense and Resistance stats. However if you can get his attention without alerting the others, you can take him out with the proper support. Once you do, Desaix will retreat.

With Slayde and Desaix out of the field, finish off the remaining enemies in this order: Archer, Knight, and Arcanis.

For handling Armored units, a Magician is exceptionally advantageous when paired with Clair.

Hard

The problem with Hard mode is that all enemy archers now wield the Iron Bow which makes the first preparation a tough choice to call. It is crucial to take out the Archer standing on the right before you proceed to break through the enemy’s line of defense. Charge from the right with the rest of your units after doing so.

Apart from those adjustments, the combat should follow a similar strategy employed as was in Normal mode.

Keep the enemy Cavalier busy by focusing your units’ firepower upon him, and remember to prevent alerting the other foes as you defend the wall.
