It has a Might of 15 which deals fixed Magic damage (MAG) even if the character that equips it has low Attack. In Echoes, the RES of the opponent is often minimal, this grants the Lightning Sword to deal significant amounts of damage.
Despite its appearance as a melee weapon, its Range (RNG) can reach up to two tiles. When paired with War Skills, the unit may even strike enemies who are 3 tiles away. Thus it assists in securing victories in battles in as early as the game’s first Chapter.
How to obtain the Lightning Sword
This sword appears inside one of the treasure boxes in the South Fort of the first Chapter. In case you missed it, it will reappear in the next Chapter.
Recommended Character to equip with the Lightning Sword
During the early stages of the game, Alm is the prime candidate worthy of brandishing it. With high HP, he becomes a dedicated unit to act as the party’s durable hero, defend the frail ranged attackers at the back. During the Zofia Castle “Liberation Battle,” it is recommended to arm Alm with the Lightning Sword when aiming to obtain the Dracoshield from Desaix.
One of the best allies to Alm are the Mercenaries such as Gray, Kliff and Tobin as they excel during the game’s middle stages. They not only possess high SPD but are the suitable classes to “chase” after most enemies to round them up, making them perfect candidates for Alm to bestow the Lightning Sword to once he gains a better weapon.
