This method which exists in Gaiden has been confirmed to work with Fire Emblem Echoes.

Introduction

“Dread Fighter to Villager Loop” is a useful method in Fire Emblem Gaiden which provides the Highest ranking class (3rd Tier) a chance to revert back to the Villager (1st Tier). This gives it a chance to level up an infinite number of times.

This route follows the specific path of ranking up: Villager → Mercenary → Swordsman → Dread Fighter → Villager. Since in Gaiden it is advantageous to cap the character to level 20 first before changing classes (2nd, 3rd, Villager Tier) to reap the benefits of maximizing the Stats gained, this technique is beneficial for raising the desired character efficiently.

The “Dread Fighter – Villager Loop” Method

Upon attaining the minimum level requirement of 7, the Villager can rank up to the Mercenary (2nd Tier) which will revert its level back to 1. By gaining 9 more levels, it will reach the minimum level requirement to become a Dread Fighter (level 10). Raise this character’s level to 10 and it will be able to change to the Villager again.

This method narrows down the desired companions to those which can rank up to Dread Fighter only. As a result, it is important to focus on which characters can rank up to this 3rd Tier.
