Strategy

Normal

This map employs the Desert terrain which prevents all non-Flying units to pass through. Since this affects both you and your enemies, it makes Archers and Pegasus Knights superior over other units because of the opportunity to bypass the obstacles imposed by the terrain through distance damage and immunity to terrain respectively.

Mercenaries and Magicians cover the outer Stronghold’s perimeter, while Archers guard its inner layer.

Keep in mind that the enemies that inhabit the interior are not hostile unless you occupy the cells captured in their Range. Therefore before you attack the interiors, be sure to take out the ones patrolling outside the stronghold first.

During your turn, place a Mercenary on the left side alongside a high DEF unit like Valbar, then fill the remaining tile on the right with a Soldier to keep the RES in check.

After clearing the exterior free of guards, lure the boss away from the Stronghold’s’ interior. Have Leon snipe the enemy Archer from a distance to prevent them from causing additional harm to the party.

With the desert displaying no additional terrain effects, you can take the majority of the enemies with the Pegasus Sisters and Leon.

Finish off the remaining opposing Archers inside the Stronghold to end this skirmish.

Hard

Contrast to Normal, the opposing Archers and Boss wield either the Iron Bow or Steel Bow, making their Stronghold’s impenetrable to Flying Units. Avoid risking the Pegasus Sisters and prioritize on Leon’s marksmanship to come out on top. It is required to change Leon to sniper before taking on this map to compensate for the party arrangement.

The order should be Leon, Genny, then place the Pegasus Sisters or Mae on the right side of the map. First concern is to take out the Arcanist that stands guard at the Stronghold’s’ exterior. Move Sniper Leon to fell the Archers at the watch tower. Patch up Leon’s sustained injuries with Genny’s healing spells. Continue to infiltrate the enemy units that guard the interior’s walls.
