Mathilda was a member of the Deliverance in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia along with Clive and Fernand. Similar to Clive, she’s also a Cavalry unit that can progress to Paladin in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. She has a calm and courageous demeanor, as a result with training with her father. She soon married Clive in the end, retiring from knighthood. However, she appears in Fire Emblem Heroes as a Blue/Lance.

Stats

Mathilda, unlike Berkut and Clive, has a more balanced set of stats. Similarly to the both of them, she is also of the cavalry class which can quickly close distances against Red Cavalry units. However, her stats has a large difference especially ranks up to 5☆. Her stats have a bigger discrepancy especially with the sudden jump in ATK and DEF. However, she sacrifices a bit of her RES for more ATK and DEF when moving up to 5☆.

Strategy

Mathilda has a more balanced build compared to Clive and Berkut. While Clive appears to have higher ATK, Mathilda’s growth as a hero is more balanced than his. While she also has a decent Res, it’s still lower than that of Berkut. However, Mathilda’s main advantage is her Ridersbane weapon and her Cancel Affinity skill. Because of this, she can hunt down any cavalry and deal heavy damage. With a decent attack, she can also hunt Red Tomes like Raigh, Sanaki, Celica, and Katarina.

She has Cancel Affinity which removes the effects of Triangle Adept and the Gem Weapons. At Cancel Affinity 3, she can completely reverse that in her favour. She also has a decent DEF and Speed, allowing her to deal more damage. Another skill that she can inherit is Glacies which is based on 80% of her Res. However, Bonfire seems to also be a good option as it focuses on her Def.

Counter

• Mathilda – Mathilda herself is her own weakness due to Ridersbane.
• Raigh – If Raigh can outpace her, his weapon can cleave right through her.
• Cecilia – If Cecilia uses New Moon and outruns Mathilda then, she can hit her down.
