Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes (ファイアーエムブレム無双 風花雪月, Fire Emblem Musou Fuuka Setsugetsu) is a single-player/multiplayer, hack and slash and real-time tactics role-playing game. The game is developed by Omega Force and Intelligent Systems, and published by Koei Tecmo and Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. It is the second Fire Emblem Warriors collaboration title between Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force and Nintendo’s Intelligent Systems. The game was announced in February 9, 2022, and is scheduled to release on June 24, 2022

Story

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes still takes place on the continent of Fódlan. It features the cast and setting of Three Houses with a new story during the two periods of the previous game. Instead of Byleth as the protagonist, the player character will take control of Shez. Shez faced Byleth during a conflict between their mercenary groups and was almost killed. Shez was saved by Arval, an entity similar to Sothis, and functions as a presence within the mind of the protagonist. Shez and Arval wander the continent to train and seek revenge against Byleth. In their journey, they encounter the students of the Officer’s Academy in the forest.

Gameplay Features

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes shares similar elements from previous Fire Emblem titles, including Three Houses, while having its own new and unique gameplay systems as well. Here is a quick summary of Three Hopes’s unique gameplay:

New and Returning Characters

Three Hopes introduces new characters namely Shez and Arval. Shez is the new player avatar and protagonist character while Arval is the support character for Shez. Arval’s supporting role in the story is similar to Sothis. When it comes to Byleth and Sothis’s roles, they will serve as antagonists for Shez and Arval. New characters will also debut as enemies such as Ludwig, Rufus, and Shahid.

When it comes to selecting genders, the player can choose from both Shez and Byleth.

All the cast from Three Houses will return in Three Hopes. They include the playable characters from the Black Eagles, Blue Lions, Golden Deer, and Ashen Wolves. Also, characters from the Church of Seiros, Knights of Seiros, and the Officer’s Academy will make an appearance and some will become playable such as Manuela, Jeritza, Shamir. Other uncontrollable characters from the previous title like Monica the from Adrestian Empire and Rodrigue from the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus will become playable in the game.

Old and New Classes

Almost all of the playable Classes from Three Houses will return with their new requirements for progression. All Beginner Classes, Intermediate Classes, Advanced Classes, and Master Classes will be available for each of your unit characters to choose from. There are also new classes introduced in the Three Hopes such as Fluegel for Shez and Silverheart for Byleth.

Battle System

Three Hopes, similar to Fire Emblem Warriors and other Dynasty Warrior games and crossovers, features a hack-and-slash battle system where a single player fights multiple enemy units in real-time. In addition to routing enemies, the player must accomplish other win conditions when clearing a battle stage. Win conditions include capturing enemy bases and clearing side missions.

The pair-up mechanic from Fire Emblem Warriors returns in form of Adjutants. The player character can assign another unit in battle as a combo assist and his/her abilities will boost the player-controlled character. Also, there will be a Support gain on the adjutant.

Free Day Exploration and Activities

During pre-battle and post-battle phases in the game, the protagonist can freely roam, interact with allies and NPCs and use facilities available at the Base Camp. The Base Camp function is similar to Garreg Mach in Three Houses.

Facilities include Training Grounds that help increase Class Level experience, the Kitchen Master to cook meals to boost stats, the Recreation Quarter to share a meal with a dining partner for a higher morale boost, and Support gain.
