Oakenhart Boss Strategy

Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom - Oakenhart Boss Guide

Oakenhart’s weak points are his ankles so these must be your focus of attack. While this sounds simple enough, you will destroy the buds around the area that are spreading poisonous pollen. Higmakers will spawn after the buds are destroyed, so it is recommended that you take out as many of them as you can during the fight as they will grant you a shield against Oakenhart’s poison attacks.

Sticking to Oakenhart’s side is generally the best strategy when attacking him from up close (when he is on the ground). This lets you avoid his vine wave attack that shoots out in front of him after he raises both front legs in the air. Just be careful of his tail whip attack when he starts to swing his tail in the other direction to gain momentum.

When Oakenhart goes into the air, he will spew a cloud of poison in the are in front of him. Run away when you see this and wait for the poison to dissipate. Pepper him with ranged attacks while he is airborne and wait for him to land again.

Oakenhart can also summon three massive tornados around him. Position yourself on the safe spots and keep shooting at him.

Oakenhart will fall down after dealing enough damage to his legs. Unload on him with more melee attacks and skills.

When Oakenhart glows with purple energy, regroup with Mausinger to gain a shield and attack Oakenhart using melee attacks and skills. Oakenhart will continue to cycle through his moveset throughout the remainder of the fight. Be sure to heal if your health is low and the boss should go down after a long and tedious fight.
