The Horned One Final Boss Strategy

Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom - The Horned One

The best time to attack the Horned One during the first stage of the fight is after he misses with his fist shockwave attack and double orb arms slams. Stand at mid range from the boss and bait him to use these attacks. When he misses, go in and pummel him before he recovers.

If you stay too far away from the Horned One, he will summon massive purple orbs of energy at you. Run or dodge away to avoid them.

When a circle of energy glows around Lofty, head towards him to charge your HP and magic. This will allow you to use powerful skills (especially Evan’s Mornstar’s Edge if you have the Mornstar) to deal massive damage to the boss.

Take out the minions when the Horned One summons them to avoid having to deal with their lasers along with the Horned One’s attacks throughout the fight.

The Horned One will eventually use various attacks from Kingmakers you have previously defeated (Longfang, Brineskinnner, Bastion, and Oakenhart).

Like Longfang, the Horned One can call down flaming rocks around the area. You can choose t destroy them to get MP orbs or just stay away from them before they explode.

The Horned One will also use Brineskimmer’s ice beam move by summoning blue circles. Run around and dodge away from the to avoid getting hit.

Like Bastion, the Horned One can call down lightning bolts around the arena. Keep moving and you should get through the attack without taking damage.

The Horned One can also perform Oakenhart’s vine attacks. Position yourself on the safe areas based on the pattern of the attack to avoid getting hit.

Lastly, the Horned One can perform a powerful dark laser attack when he is at low health. When you see the Horned One fly outside the arena and begin charging, stay on the sides of the arena . He should miss you entirely this way. Note that you can also hit him with ranged attacks while he is floating away from you.

Keep pummeling him with high damage skills by charging yourself up with Lofty. He will keep regenerating health during the fight so do not let your guard down. When a dark orb appears on the Horned One’s chest, attack it to finish him off.
